Welcome to Metro Nashville Public Schools’ Middle College High School at Nashville State Community College. This unique program is an “Option School” for students who show potential for academic success and have a desire to show responsibility by taking ownership for their educations. The school is designed for students in grades 10-12 who want a change from a traditional high school; it is not for students with discipline problems!  Students accepted into this program must have intrinsic motivation, the ability to complete advanced work successfully and a great level of social maturity, since off campus lunch is permissible.

Some advantages of being enrolled in a program such as our high school are as follows:

1. All classes are located on the campus of Nashville State Community College.  
2. Students who drive must purchase parking stickers and park in the student lots; otherwise, cars will be towed and ticketed just as any other vehicle in violation on a college campus.
3. College classes are taught by professors and not by high school teachers, as is the case in local schools' AP programs. Students must make passing grades to receive college credits.
4. Enrollment in the Middle College Program will help to ease the transition and adjustment problems experienced by so many high school graduates who enter as freshman in college.
5. Students have the opportunity to receive and transfer credits to either a two or four-year institution to complete their undergraduate degrees.
6. The program's flexible scheduling allows students to experience attending some classes on alternate days.

Middle College High School provides endless opportunities for students to begin their college careers. The Nashville State Community College catalog and curriculum are available to our students. With dedicated and committed faculty members' expections of great success from everyone, Middle College High has the potential to grow into one of the most successful institutions in recent years in the Metro Nashville Public School System.
